Our client is a leading construction and civil engineering business, who are growing rapidly. This role will be based at their Suffolk offices and will play a huge part in the companies growth and support to the civils team.

ROLE:

• Identifying the organisations purchasing needs
• Researching, selecting and purchasing quality products and materials
• Building relationships with suppliers and supply chain
• Liaise with site teams regarding materials and supply issues
• Secure standard rates and agreements aligned with level of business
• Support the resolution of supplier invoice queries in conjunction with the commercial and finance teams
• Assist commercial managers with enquiries
• Be heavily involved in developing and implementing a buying/estimating system and procedure for the business

CANDIDATE:

• High commercial awareness
• Interpersonal skills, particularly in negotiating
• Ability to make decisions and cope with pressure
• Analytical and attention to detail
• Able to work well in a team
• Excellent Excel skills
• CIPS qualification (desirable not essential)
• Ideally some construction, especially civils experience
