We are currently recruiting for a Buyer on behalf of one of our valued clients within the construction industry. As an established principle contractor in the North East, our client works on projects up to the value of £10 million, covering refurbs, builds, and civil packages too. The successful candidate will be responsible for procurement for a variety of contracts.

Responsibilities

* Sourcing and developing suppliers

* Planning and scheduling of deliveries

* Liaising with estimating, QS, project management and site staff on availability of products

* Managing the full supply chain

* Working with suppliers from tender stage

* Building strong and lasting connections with suppliers

* Manage relationships to ensure efficient purchasing and delivery

* Ensure compliance with health, safety and environment requirements

* Excellent communication skills with project staff and suppliers

* Knowledge of the construction industry

* Experience in procurement/ purchasing/ supply management

* Organisation to ensure detailed records are kept

* Ability to maintain strong relationships with colleagues so as to efficiently liaise regarding project cost

Salary is up to £26,000DOE.
