Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per year

Our client is a market leader in the Online Property Sector – a fast sale estate agency and property cash buying company providing national coverage. 

They growing and growing fast and need a Senior Bookkeeper to ensure all the financials are in order.

It’s office based, 9 to 5.30pm Monday to Friday with the possibility of a few days working from home.

You will work closely with the Finance and Office Manager on all companies in the group with a real pro-active approach to all you do.

The role includes carrying out of duties including book-keeping, accounts & bank reconciliation, online banking. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, strong IT skills and accounting skill sets. You will be an excellent communicator who can engage with all levels of staff, suppliers and other members of the management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Taking over most of the finance and administration aspects as the role progresses. This will include Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Credit Control, VAT, Quotations, Diary Management, Payroll, Expenses, bank reconciliations, prepayments, Payments, accruals reporting etc.
  • Complete bank reconciliation & book-keeping (via online systems e.g. Xero Bookkeeping)
  • All aspects of reconciliation of accounts (bank and ledger) in Xero and query resolution
  • Liaise with suppliers, calculate and compare costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money including office supplies and stock purchase decisions.
  • Preparation of data for external accountants for year end, trial balance etc.
  • Submitting monthly pension schedules
  • Payroll preparation with an understanding of PAYE, national insurance and pensions and look through commissions for sales teams
  • Liaising with Bank
  • Basic Management Accounts
  • Manage incoming payments for our buyers deposits

Your Skills and Qualifications will include:

  • Strong accounting & bookkeeping experience
  • Part Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/AAT/CIMA)
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience with using Xero accounting software (preferable)
  • Advanced Excel & Reporting skills
  • Demonstrate clear and concise verbal and written skills
  • Strong Organisational & IT skills
  • Proactive with the ability to prioritise workload & meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle sensitive data professionally & maintain confidentiality-experience in Property sales and estate agency will be an advantage

A strong conveyancing background – you will be dealing with sales and purchases throughout the UK – including Scotland
