Group Procurement Manager

We are recruiting a Group Procurement Manager responsible for all purchasing and facilities management at sites in Gloucester and Nuneaton. This a challenging role and will suit someone with drive and ambition who has experience of working in procurement within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will manage a small team and will report to the Head of Operations. He/she will manage the purchasing and facilities departments to deliver cost-effective, timely and value-added purchasing to all internal customers and will manage all aspects of procurement within the supply base in a professional manner with due regard to quality, continuous improvement and cost reduction.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Management and control of all purchasing and warehouse activities
• Ensure materials and products are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time
• Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers such as fleet, waste and utilities
• Identify new suppliers, agree terms and negotiate supply agreements where necessary
• Foster close working relationships with associated departments
• Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spend
• To identify and implement improvements to the purchasing function
• Manage the Company’s fleet of vehicles
• Cost analysis for CAPEX plant and equipment purchases
• Development and mentoring of purchasing team members

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Significant purchasing experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
• Proven track record in controlling and reducing costs
• Experience in negotiating robust supply agreements
• MCIPS qualified or working towards
• Good team management
• Full driving licence required
• Excellent time management skills

DESIRABLE

• Understanding of environmental controls associated with ISO 14001

Full time, permanent position based in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire with approx. one day a week at our site in Nuneaton.

£54,000 – £66,000 per annum dependent on experience
