Temporary, part time 25hrs.
The Role:
Working as part of a team the successful candidate will perform secretarial and administrative services to clinical staff to allow the smooth and efficient performance of clinical duties and make a direct and positive contribution to the work of the team.
Responsibilities:
• Responsibility to deal with the Clinic’s 5/6 patients at a time.
• Responsible for sending out appointment letters.
• To be comfortable and have experience with transcription on digital dictation systems.
• Word processing clinical letters and reports from either audio or copy typing.
• Responsibility for producing a variety of confidential and sensitive correspondence relating to patients.
• To handle telephone communication and enquires to the Clinic, taking messages and communicating them in a timely and effective manner as appropriate.
• Responsible for ensuring patient’s records are stored securely whilst in current use and filed correctly.
• Possess knowledge of Microsoft programmes, including Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint.
• Responsible for the efficient management of service user information and clinical files.
Education/Skills required:
Essential:
• Excellent use of the English language/grammar.
• Competence in audio transcription/audio typing.
• Experience in using Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point.
• Demonstrate understanding of patient/clinic confidentiality and knowledge of Data Protection.
• Must be able to clearly and accurately convey information verbally gathered from both verbal and documented reports.
• Can complete letters, forms, reports & tables using computerised technology from information collected.
• Friendly and professional.
• Must be able to observe confidentiality at all times.
• Sound up to date knowledge and experience of Microsoft suite (Work, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
Desirable:
• Previous experience of working in the Healthcare Sector.
• Good working knowledge of medical terminology.
