Salary: £33,600 per year
The Communications & Engagement Coordinator is a full time position with overall responsibility for the development and implementation of waste education within the visitor centre and local community, as well as internal and external communications to all stakeholders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Day to day responsibility for raising awareness of projects and activities as laid down in Stakeholder and Community Liaison Plan (MS23) and the Visitor Centre Plan (MS24)
*
Manage and implement a programme of environmental education and awareness to include events and activities for all age groups at the Visitor Centre and with local educational establishments.
*
Promote and publicise the facility amongst the local community groups, businesses and residents.
*
Respond to a variety of enquiries (general and specific) received at the Visitor Centre.
*
Manage the day to day operations of the Visitor Centre.
*
Assist in staffing the Visitor Centre reception.
*
Provide assistance and information to visitors.
*
Arrange and accompany site visits from the community.
*
Select and train volunteer visitor centre guides.
*
Manage filing, storage and security of documents.
*
Assist in the delivery of the facility’s local economic benefit targets by working with local businesses.
*
Will be involved with the consolation, media management and customer care obligations of the facility.
*
Will update the general manager of any relevant changes in local community engagement procedures.
*
Attend networking events to keep the company top of mind with our stakeholders and monitor effectiveness.
*
Research and develop content for the company/park website and provide status updates via social media.
*
Regularly participate in activities to keep abreast of trends and possible cooperative programs and review literature, and otherwise keep current of industry and communications trends.
*
Emphasise the importance of recycling the correct materials through understanding how the MBT facility operates and to reduce contamination through the correct use of kerbside collection scheme.
*
Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of education programmes and apply feedback on the educational activities provided.
EXPERIENCE
*
Working within a face-to-face customer/client contact role.
*
Experience of planning or delivering environmental education.
*
Experience of the waste industry or sustainable resource management.
Experience of working with voluntary groups/charitable organisations
QUALIFICATIONS
Desirable but not essential:
*
NVQ in Customer Care-related area
*
Teaching or coaching qualification
