Salary: £26,000 per year
My client is a major blue chip business operating in South Tyneside. As a result of business demands, the company is looking to recruit a number of Payroll Administrators to provide support to the Finance Team.
Responsibilities:
To ensure that all required Payroll and pension processes and associated documents are completed/issued effectively, accurately and in a timely manner.
To ensure that all payments to employees are accurate and on time
To follow documented procedures/processes and adhere to the terms of the Client SLA and associated agreements in order to meet customer requirements
To adhere to all deadlines as indicated on the monthly processing timetable and associated procedures
To process all appropriate information received from the Customer and investigate as appropriate and in consultation with the customer when information is incomplete or inaccurate
To ensure security, data protection and confidentiality is maintained on all systems used
To process information received from third parties effectively, accurately and in a timely manner
To log all enquiries / issues as per the agreed procedure, investigate and ensure resolution within agreed timescales.
To remain up to date on Payroll policies and procedures
Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the HR/Payroll Shared Service function as required by sharing knowledge and assisting with skills transfer
To escalate at the earliest opportunity when obligations to Clients or other departments cannot be met
To behave at all times in a professional manner including in all communications internally and externally
To work in an organised manner, maintain a clean desk policy and ensure confidentiality of data at all times
To embrace the process of Continuous Professional Development and being customer focused
Using initiative to recognise and suggest improvements and development opportunities
To work as an integral part of the Services and supporting the company in the efficient delivery of its service.
To support colleagues in providing excellent customer services
Participate in training sessions as required and apply the learning back in the workplace
Qualifications
Essential
Demonstrate competence at a level equivalent to GCSE grade A to C or equivalent
Desirable
CIPP Foundation Degree/Diploma qualified, part qualified or equivalent experience
& Knowledge
Essential
Experience of working in a HR & Payroll administration role
Experience of working in a very busy payroll department dealing with large volumes of data
Excellent organisational skills
A clear understanding of the importance of security, integrity and confidentiality and the ability to apply this
Ability to demonstrate a strong customer focus and a passion for high quality service delivery
Ability to communicate effectively to customers and colleagues at all levels and adapt communication style as appropriate
Desirable
Experience of working within a data input and numeric role
Experienced in an outsourcing environment
Experience of operating the Agresso Payroll module
Technical Skills / Ability
Maintenance of an up to date knowledge and understanding of Payroll best practice
Ability to manually calculate all aspects of payroll
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and business automation software and tools
Self-motivated with an aptitude to accept responsibility for own learning and development including CPD
A proven flexible attitude to work and an ability to adapt to change with a disciplined work approach to ensure deadlines are met
Ability to recognise process issues and identify areas for improvement
