Commercial Business Development Executive – West – £28,000 + Bonus
Utilita Energy are currently recruiting for a Commercial Business Development Executive to join the Commercial Energy Team. This is a Bristol-based role involving direct sales with potential customers to ensure business targets are met – and is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to become part of a fast-growing and innovative business.
Utilita Energy is Britain`s leading supplier of smart Pay As You Go energy, installing every customer with market-leading smart metering equipment. The business, having trebled its customer base since April 2015, now serve over 350,000 customers and lead the way in the smart Pay As You Go energy market.
Role Summary
The role will involve direct sales with potential customers to ensure business targets are met. You will be required to follow up potential leads, providing quotations and winning new contracts whist adhering to business processes and procedures. You will also manage the ongoing customer relationship to include complaint handling, debt management and customer retention. You will also work closely with the Commercial Business Development Executives providing the necessary support required in dealing with their Third Party Intermediaries and their contracts and accounts. You will need to be customer focused with excellent communication skills and work towards deadlines with a strong ability to prioritise workloads according to business needs.
Key Responsibilities
– To attend events/exhibitions to promote the companies` ethos
– To work closely with the Head of Commercial Sales and Commercial Sales Manager on any appropriate projects
– Holding confidential information and using it with discretion following the correct procedures
– Producing documents, reports, and presentations as required by the Head of Commercial Sales and Commercial Sales Manager
– Organising and maintaining own diary and make appointments as appropriate
– Extensive travel required
– Managing projects and liaising with clients as required by the Commercial Sales Manager
– Contacting potential clients to arrange appointments as required
– To be responsible for following up on meetings
– Comply with business processes and effectively implement them
– Apply a consistent approach to each project, implementation of processes and the management of clients
– To ensure projects are delivered within agreed timescales
– To manage, develop, and maintain relationships between Utilita and external clients
– Working with the Head of Commercial Sales and Commercial Sales Manager to devise a tailored plan to maximise potential corporate relationships
– To prepare presentations, proposals plans, tender documents and contracts as necessary
– To input creative solutions to maximise opportunity
– To work closely with the Commercial Sales Office on all projects, to ensure a consistent approach
Other Duties
– To work closely with the Head of Commercial Sales & Marketing Team, in particular the Commercial Sales Manager, to implement further sales support procedures and to help enforce correct process conduct
Reporting
– Provide MI reporting when required to Senior Management
– To provide reports and analysis as required on TPI activity
– To input creative solutions to maximise opportunity
– To monitor quality, and improve this through development of processes and personnel
Essential Criteria
– B2B energy sales sector experience
– Previous experience in a sales support or account management role
– Previous experience in a customer facing role
– Solid negotiation skills
– Good numeracy and literacy skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
– Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines
– Team player
– Ability to work on own initiative
– Have a flexible approach to work
– To have a professional approach to successfully communicate with colleagues`, management team and external sources
– To have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable Criteria
