Freight Forwarding Key Account Supervisor

Our client, a freight forwarder based in North Humberside requires a Key Account Supervisor to join their team.

Duties:

• Assist in the day to day running of the Key Account department (air, sea and road)
• Maintain relationships with overseas agents, airlines and customers
• Management and training of staff towards maximum performance and job satisfaction
• Has the mandate to sell when in customer contact situations
• Assist in the overall development of the team
• Responsible for team quality and productivity
• Coordinate activities between freight forwarders (operators), customers and suppliers
• Provide customer quotations
• Maintain the quality standards as per the agreement of the contract
• Hit all agreed KPI’s
• Report to HQ monthly stats, inclusive of Volumes, which shipping Lines are used, Freight Amount Invoiced.
• Be the focal contact to all Clients decision makers and resolve all queries promptly.
• Make sure all agreed rates are correctly invoiced to each Client Site and resolve all invoice queries promptly.
• Arrange regular meetings and conference calls with Client.
• All meetings – Minutes are taken during discussions and reported back to company HQ

Requirements:

• Comfortable with project management practises.
• At least 3 years experience in an export or import operator role (freight forwarder). Knowledge of air or sea freight industry and processes.
• Extended knowledge of customs.
• Familiar with and able to work with the company’s quality and environmental policies.
• Good knowledge of computer tools, both import/exports and invoicing.
• Knowledge of customs tariff.
• Good communication skills.
• Financial awareness.
• Able to manage own working time effectively.
• Knowledge of service levels expected by clients – able to deliver them!
• French and English language skills.

The successful candidate will be offered a salary up to £30,000according to skills and experience.
