Salary: £54,000 – £60,000 per year
NEW – Quantity Surveyor – £45-50k – Guildford
I am working with one of the UK’s fastest growing Construction Companies who are on the lookout for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their award winning team.
My client are pioneers in turn-key build solutions for high quality, multi-storey residential and mixed use developments where it is very important to achieve faster returns, safer sites and a more foreseeable performance.
My client work in a variety of sectors, but are best known for major projects in the student accommodation, care homes, residential, healthcare, education and mixed used commercial sectors.
My client pride themselves on having the ability to fulfil all stages of the project, from the initial design, manufacture and supply of the structure, groundwork and all construction duties to practical completion. This role will be based in the Head Office in Guildford for one day a week, the candidates will be expected to travel to projects all over London and occasionally, nationally.
Requirements
Working closely with the construction team, procurement team and estimating team.
Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the Client.
Undertaking costs analysis for project work.
Assisting in establishing Client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
Performing risk and value management and cost control.
Advising on procurement strategy.
Identifying, analysing costings for tenders.
Allocating work to sub-contractors.
Providing advice on contractual claims.
Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
Managing Intermediate and junior staff as required.
Desired Skills and Experience
Essential that you have previous experience working for a main contractor in a similar role.
Strong commercial and technical experience (preferably within timber frame and residential).
Qualifications
Educated to degree level
