Our client is passionate about building new homes in great locations and, most importantly, selling them at prices local people can afford. Their new homes are traditional in design and most feature driveways or garages plus generously sized gardens.

They now have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join them to produce, manage and forecast build costs for allotted sites.

Procuring all necessary subcontract trades, involving key members of the team, to ensure the best value is obtained and all subcontractor prequalification criteria have been satisfied, you will manage the payment process in accordance with the agreed payment terms; evaluating and, if appropriate, approving payments of Dayworks and Cumulative Applications for both labour only and package subcontractors. Producing site start budgets and monthly site valuations, including cost to complete assessments using the approved system, you will forecast weekly and monthly costs and, in conjunction with the Build Manager, host regular meetings with subcontractors to review performance.

Attending training and development events as required, you will take ownership of agreed performance indicators, to include regular updates to the Senior Commercial Manager and / or Regional Director.

With previous experience in a similar House Building role, you will have a strong understanding of all aspects of surveying and contractual procedures. Computer literate (especially in Microsoft Excel) and with strong organisational skills, you will be able to work independently but also as part of a team in a fast growing business.

Flexibility is essential as you will be required to attend management team and department meetings at various locations which may be outside of the usual workplace.
