MQS/Commercial Manager Designate – Main Contractor – East Sussex
Up to c£90,000 + package (including accommodation costs)

My client is an established successful building contractor with a first class reputation and great tradition. They have an increasing workload; turnover is growing steadily year on year. Their principal areas of business include schools, healthcare, leisure, commercial, heritage, ecclesiastical and residential.
They have a vacancy for an experienced MQS/Commercial Manager; you will be working as part of the senior management team and reporting into the MD. This is a small dynamic business seeking a commercial professional to add value immediately. From day one you will be involved in the strategic decision making for the business.
• MQS/Commercial Manager capable of running a small team of surveyors and estimators
• Proven success in a previous role is a must
• Oversee surveying and estimating
• Schemes typically range in value from £50k-3m
• Relevant industry qualifications
• Solid training and stable career track record with main contractors
• Experienced at running contracts from start to finish up to and including final account
• A team player, prepared to be hands-on as well as managing a small team and assisting with the development/mentoring of more junior staff
• Some notable career achievements showing increasing levels of responsibility along the way
• Part of my clients succession planning, excellent future prospects
• Must be a good long term fit for the business and the management team with long term career aspirations
• A range of high profile projects and blue chip clients to work with
• Experience of refurbishment and new build
You will need to be able to demonstrate a successful track record of projects completed to date. You will have a good level of experience, broad knowledge combined with management skills and the ability to manage risk whilst generating profits.
