Salary: £90,000 – £96,000 per year
Job Purpose:
Working as part of the PMO team, the post holder will project manage and lead the delivery of clinical systems implementations which are part of the Transformation and Digital Strategy. This will include newly procured systems, upgrade of existing systems and where appropriate in -house developed systems.
Providing project management oversight to ensure the successful delivery of all project activities including: process redesign and business change management, system testing, training, infrastructure and interfacing and to ensure effective project governance including meeting agreed timescale, quality and budgets.
The role sits within the Programme Management Office (PMO) and follows the PRINCE2 methodology employing technology and process to ensure projects achieve the best possible outcomes to the benefit of all stakeholders, both internal and external to the Trust.
The PMO Project Manager will pro-actively communicate with key stakeholders on the development and delivery of project products, ensuring that they are managed in line with best practice standards and according to project product descriptions and work packages and ensuring that risks and issues are managed effectively through the RAID log to enable benefits realisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* To provide leadership and guidance on project delivery, championing excellence in support of continuous improvement within digital transformation.
* To effectively Project Manage clinically focused information technology projects.
* To work closely with the wider IT and Transformation teams in assessing the IT infrastructure capacity, resilience and support requirements.
* Responsible for the planning, delivery and organisation of complex projects making use of appropriate project management tools and techniques.
* Responsibility for comprehensive documentation for projects and work streams, ensuring that all stakeholders use an agreed set of processes and systems to monitor performance against actions, milestones and timescale and quality.
* To maintain oversight of all workstreams’ performance against plan, identifying risks, issues and dependencies between projects; advising on and implementing appropriate mitigating and corrective actions or agreed adjustments to the project plan. Hold the
budget for the project, manage resources, timescales and costs and provide regular reports to the Head of Digital Transformation and all relevant Programme and Project Board including highlight and exception reports.
* Maintain project risk logs and develop contingency plans for identified issues. Ensure all risk registers are up to date and follow project risk management principles.
* Articulate a clear vision for change, encouraging collaborative working and motivating staff where there may be resistance to change.
* Developing excellent relationships with Clinicians and other health care professionals to ensure that they have an opportunity to influence the planning and development of digital services within the Trust.
* To work with the PMO Quality Manager and ensure all local security and confidentiality issues associated with electronic sharing of personal information are identified and ensure the Trust complies with all industry and NHS standard when implementing new innovative technology i.e. HSCIC, NICE
* Analyse, interpret and advise on complex, contentious data or information with a view to making appropriate judgement and recommendations to achieve desired outcomes in development of project delivery (including project remediation) to support agreement to proceed, based on costs and benefits in line with overarching digital strategy.
* Deploy high level communication skills to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of objective, development, progress and directing the assigned staff where necessary.
* Communicate complex information clearly, concisely and persuasively both verbally and in writing.
* Write project initiation documents, business cases, complex reports and present these in a range of formal settings as and when required.
* Responsible for effective management of project meetings and the production of project management documents and reports.
* Assist with and write or amend policies and procedures in-line with the new system processes, legislation, and Trust guidelines
* Ensure Trust procurement processes and procedures are followed in a timely and efficient manner and participate in the procurement process where relevant providing assistance for the development of procurement documentation as required.
* Develop and maintain own knowledge of developments and legislation relevant to the area and ensure that each function reflects professional guidance and standards.
