Salary: £30 – £48 per hour

Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking two A&E Mental Health Liaison Nurses to join one of our clients busy teams based within the Surrey area.

**Job Purpose**

To carry out psychosocial assessments of patients referred from a variety of sources within the General Hospital, including A&E and the wards. To work with people presenting with a range of psychosocial needs arising in the context of physical illness, as well as patients presenting following self-harm or in psychiatric crisis.

To work across the service, whilst bringing specialist skills and experience within an Older Persons mental health team.

To work across the service, whilst bringing specialist skills and experience within a Working age adult mental health team.

**Key Duties**

To be responsible for the full assessment of the psychiatric/psychosocial needs of those patients who have been referred, including the comprehensive assessment of risk to the individual, children, carers and staff.

To be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of robust discharge plans based on a clear assessment and formulation of the patient’s needs, which may include making an urgent referral to secondary mental health services, social and voluntary services.

**Person Specification**

The candidate must:

– Be a Registered Mental Health Nurse

– Be registered with the NMC with a valid pin

– Have a current in date enhanced DBS/CRB

– Have previous experience working within an Older Persons/Working age Mental health

– Have previous experience of Liaison Psychiatric Nursing or autonomous work in the community

– Ideally have 12 months experience within a Band 6 role

– Be able to work flexibly within a shift system, across 7 days a week as the liaison service develops to ensure the acute hospital contracts are met and the changing needs of patients in the acute hospital are met. This may require the candidate to work night shifts.
