Support Assistant – Mental Health or Learning Disabilities

Due to rapid company growth Comfort Care services are currently recruiting for the position Support Worker/ Support Assistant.
Our service users live in supported housing within the local community, and require support for a range of conditions such as Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and substance misuse.
It is the job of the Support assistant to enable and encourage our service users to live their lives as independently as possible following a person centred approach to their care at all times.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
-Implementing and carrying out individual SU support plans
-Safeguarding the rights and dignity of the SU
-Supporting SU to build their confidence, self-esteem and their ability to manage their mental health symptoms
-Support the SU?s with taking their medication
-Support SU?s with their daily living skills and domestic chores
-Support SU?s to use public transport
-Encourage and motivate SU?s into employment, voluntary work and/or into education
-Accurately keeping daily records.

-Ideal candidates will have experience within Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and substance misuse
-Strong living skills that can be transferred to SU?s e.g. daily living skills
-Be familiar with using a PC
-Strong English Spoken, listening and written communication skills
-Full driving licence and own car are desirable
-NVQ Level 2 or above in Health and Social care although full training is given
