Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £42,000 per year

Mechanical Design Engineer required for internationally recognised market leading engineering company based north of Ipswich.

Working in modern, purpose-built premises and reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will be designing equipment for the marine and industrial sectors taking on board full design and manufacture contracts ranging from basic to detailed bespoke design packages. Duties of the role include:

• Working from sales specifications to produce detailed design.
• Working closely with consultants/M&E contractors to ascertain full design constraints/requirements.
• Producing detailed design drawings for customer approval and production build.
• Sourcing relevant components and equipment to produce Bill of Materials using Sage 200.
• Working closely with production to ensure correct interface of design.
• Producing detailed calculations to endorse design.
• Producing Technical Documentation as part of the O&M Manuals for the equipment.
• UK and Overseas travel may be required.
