Financial Accountant

Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year

Redfox has been commissioned by a major fresh sector business with very sound backing and a desire to expand further in the UK and in Europe. Their model services the UK & European retailers through various distribution channels for a successful direct trading relationship. As part of their business planning, they have invested successfully in key growing/farming operations in the UK and in Europe.

As part of their positive growth plans, they are looking for an individual to join them as their Financial Accountant.

The key purpose of the role is to partner with their Financial Director and to assist to take control of the finances of the business and to work closely with key stakeholders both internally and externally. You will look to provide control over the UK companies’ compliance to FRS, tax regulation, audit requirements as well as manage company cash and banking arrangements. In addition you will provide control over the companies’ assets and liabilities through establishing and maintaining good governance procedures, balance sheet control and ongoing management of their purchase ledgers.

Key Elements of the role:

• Establish day to day processes and controls to make sure all transactions recorded correctly in accordance with FRS, tax, statutory requirements, and company’s DoA.
• Establish regular balance sheet reconciliations and reporting, including working capital control and forecast
• VAT, Intrastate, NS reporting and control
• Lead annual audit process of the consolidated accounts
• Establish and maintain regular intercompany reconciliation process
• Management of banking facility including cash forecasts, payment run management, management of overdraft/loan facility, interest forecast, covenants compliance, management of the online bank portal, bank mandate, company credit cards. Establish best practice process for cash control
• Management of purchase ledger function(1-2 people), expenses management, including period end accruals, active participation and leadership in process optimisation and improvement;
• Provide finance support to overheads departments, monthly review of the spend vs budget.
• Active participation and leadership of ERP improvement projects

What we want to see from you:

• ACA/ACCA qualification
• Previous experience performing similar duties
• Preferable industry experience – farming, manufacturing, food related ideally
• Good ERP knowledge
• Previous involvement in finance IT system improvement, maintenance
• Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills, good user of Power point and MS Word
