Salary: £27.6 – £38.4 per hour
My client a leading Aerospace company in Gloucestershire require a Mechanical Engineer for an initial 6 month contract.
Mechanical Engineer Key Responsibilities
– Provide mechanical technical support to Project Customers/ Suppliers/ Internal departments as required.
– Undertake detailed analysis and testing of mechanical assemblies to enable the investigation of in-service or build problems.
– Undertake material specification reviews to assess the suitability if alternate materials.
– Undertake material investigations including engineering testing to determine the suitability of alternative or new materials for parts and processes.
– Undertake mechanical component level analysis of compatibility of alternate components as a result of obsolescence.
– Prepare technical documentation: reports; specifications; change notes; engineering concessions; and co-ordination memos for internal and external use.
– Attend regular technical and programme review meetings as required to support tasks.
– Work effectively with colleagues, customers, suppliers and all stakeholders and uphold the company values at all times.
– Ensure that mechanical technical support delivery promises are adhered to and adopt a pro-active approach to early identification of issues before they impact the production activities.
Mechanical Engineer Key Requirements
– A degree of equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical subject or significant industry experience.
– Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills of complex mechanical designs.
– Effective and accurate use of MS Office applications and ERP systems.
– Able to produce clear, concise and accurate written and verbal communications (in English) at all levels.
– Effective listening skills and ability to clarify and confirm technical support requirements.
– Confident in a fast moving and changing environment with the skill to prioritise and delegate tasks as the business or customer demands.
– Is self-confident, proficient and competent and can work well under pressure and with minimum supervision.
– Able to demonstrate the ability to consider wider business implications when considering options and making decisions.
– Able to work in an engineering team environment and participate in all team activities, with a willingness to share experience and skills and promote the development of team members.
– Able to work outside core hours and be flexible to react to the business priorities.
– Able to travel within the UK to provide technical support to customers, supplier and subcontract partners.
