Foster Care Associates (part of the Core Assets Group) are an award winning independent Fostering Agency who are looking to recruit a Placements Officer into their team in Plymouth

As a Placements Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the placement of children with foster carers whilst complying with Fostering regulations and procedures. Your role will involve ensuring placement growth in line with commercial and business plans, and matching suitable foster carers with children. You will also be responsible for updating databases and managing and maintaining business relationships with Local Authorities. Due to the nature of the business; you will be dealing with information of a sensitive nature, so you will need to be resilient, yet maintaining an empathetic approach.

Other duties will include:

– Identifying potential carers
– Liaising with Local Authorities and Supervising Social Workers
– Ensuring Placement Contracts are produced accurately and renewed where appropriate.
– Producing and send out notification letters to Young People, Local Authorities and Carers.
– Providing statistical reports for management and teams in relation to placements.

You will also assist with financial duties, so previous experience of working with financial systems is essential. Previous experience of working in social services, welfare or a care environment would be desirable but is not essential.
