Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year
SQL Development Database Administrator (DBA) – Central London – £40k – £50k + benefits
This role will suit someone who has DBA experience as a secondary skill to their core role as well as someone where DBA is their core role.
You will be working within a small development team (15 people) within a larger (100+ people) Technology Company that services the Finance sector. You will be working with and building 100-500Gb+ databases. You will be joining a company that is introvert and extrovert friendly, understands techies and geeks and provides an optional social environment. They invest heavily in training and progression
As a SQL Development DBA you will build new databases from scratch. Within the first 6 months you will be very development focussed before you move into more of a 70% – 30% split between development and production DBA work.
As a SQL Development Database Administrator (DBA), your main duties will be:
* Transact-SQL / T-SQL development
* MS Integration Services (SSIS) including support and development of full Solutions
* MS Reporting Services (SSRS) including support and development of reports
* Implementation of Data Warehousing
* Working in SQL production DBA
* Monitoring/optimising the database performance.
* Offering technical guidance for database design and performance tuning.
* Design and develop data systems making specific determinations about system performance.
* Documentation of database design, procedures, best practices for the development team.
* Be part of the out of hours support for the operations team once suitably skilled.
To be successful for the SQL Development DBA role, you need the following experience:
* Expert knowledge of using T-SQL, SSIS and SSRS
* Expert knowledge of Data Modelling abilities and database design
* Strong Experience of performance tuning and monitoring
* Knowledge in BI and Data Warehousing
