Assistant Production manager

£25k £35k+ plus a performance related bonus (Attractive relocation package is also offered to the right candidate)

Very exciting job opportunity in expanding business. The production manager of this company is seeking to retire in the short medium term and his successor is being sort. Opportunity to work as assistant to the current production manager for an extended period to learn about all aspects of the role.

The company employs 60 people and offers subcontract machining services to a range of customers and industries. It is based in the Bristol area.

This role would suit a dynamic, ambitious individual who is not afraid not step on peoples toes to get results and is interested in driving forward a business into the next phase of their development.

Services offered include:

*Milling

*Turning

*Grinding

*Other specialist processes.

Candidates must hold a relevant degree or be engineering apprentice trained, and must have management experience in applicable roles in the past.

Candidates should have experience of all aspects of machine shop management such as:

*Man management (2 shift system)

*Machine scheduling and use of MRP system.

*Take charge of all production activities within a fast paced machine shop environment

*Monitor and control productivity levels and performance targets are consistently hit

*Undertake any continuous improvement necessary to increase product efficiency

*Liaise with Purchasing manager to control material planning and input

*Liaise with Quality Dept

*Ensure effective training schedules and engage in team development

*Develop effective relationships with other senior members of staff without the business and engage in strategic planning

Experience/Skills

*Good experience working in a Machine shop environment in a Junior / Managerial position

*Proven track record

*Ideally previous experience within CNC machining environment

*High attention to detail and experience of delivering set objectives in a fast paced manufacturing environment
