Data Analyst (Public Health & Health Economics)

Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 per year

An award-winning and fast-growing consultancy in the pharmaceutical advisory field have had a very successful few years strengthening their health economics team, particularly within their public health, NHS and epidemiology fields. Due to this success, they are now looking for a Data Analyst with strong knowledge of the public health, NHS or epidemiology markets to join them.

The team have a broad network of stakeholders across the pharmaceutical industry and consist of the best in business of strategists, analysts and health economists. They’re looking for an individual who wants to make an important step into the pharmaceutical world and be one of the first in the door to this high-profile, successful arm of the company. With offices across the UK, there are various options for placement of the right candidate.

As a key data analyst / junior health economist for the public health and NHS teams, you will have strong exposure to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries and be passionate about assimilating data for healthcare tasks. As a consultancy, they require their data analysts to create unique projects for each client – but to give you an idea of the tasks generally expected of the data analyst for public health:

Provide datasets for the health economics team, collecting and maintaining key data from public health and NHS, the data analyst will be key in collating health economics and public health information
Develop and maintain a public health data/ real world evidence database
Have a storng understanding on the sources and use of a range of health datasets, and be familiar with key NHS and public health data (both public and private) 
Show familiarity with epidemiology or health economics datasets and the aims of the additional teams around you
Input data and assist with development of health economics modelling tools – such as budget impact models
This would suit a Data Analyst with strong pharmaceutical, HEOR, Public Health or NHS experience with an interest in working in a high-level pharmaceutical consultancy environment.

Our Data Analyst (Public Health) will have:

Understanding of the NHS commissioning process and key commissioning outcomes frameworks
Degree in economics, science, mathematics or stats (MSc Advantageous)
Experience in the use of epidemiological methods or statistical methods in health databases
Very strong experience in presenting public health data analysis and findings
Comprehensive skills in the use spreadsheets, databases, GIS, statistical software (preferably R)
