We currently have a number of openings for technically minded individuals to join our prestigious Aerospace associated client in Uxbridge

These positions are based in the sheet metal department, and the roles are to carry out detailed assembly of components and associated assemblies involving metals, composites and plastics
Role
Conduct bench fitting and build of detailed assemblies including; installation of a variety of threaded inserts and locking pins, jig drilling, taper reaming, thread locking and crimping, riveting using manual techniques, as well as mechanised taumel orbital riveting and spin riveting processes
Fabricate and assemble chassis and container assemblies using build jigs, manual riveting techniques and pneumatic rivet presses.
Produce backrest and platform assemblies in aluminium glass fibre and carbon fibre. Fit hardware and furniture using a range of aerospace fasteners, adhesives and Velcro. Trim with temperature sensitive edging
Conduct heat treatment, (annealing and age hardening) of components to strictly defined specifications. Use chart recording to qualify the process.
Utilise Royalite plastic sheet and vacuum forming techniques to produce head pad assemblies. Fit trimmings using bonding and sealing agents
Trimming, filing and grinding surfaces, using hand tools, portable tools and pedestal mounted equipment.

Skills

Experience of bench fitting,
Assembly of composites and production of large assemblies.
Candidates who are skilled in manual riveting techniques would also be beneficial.

• Broad experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Basic background in H&S policies and procedures.
• Aerospace experience desirable.
Experience in one or more of the following desirable; riveting processes, operating Vertical milling machines, gluing/bonding processes, presses or injection molding

• Mechanical Apprenticeship desirable

In return a salary of up to £30,000is being offered
