Supply Chain Planner
An award winning company in York are seeking to recruit a Supply Chain Planner to cover a period of maternity for a minimum period of 10 months, maybe longer. This is an exciting role that will provide you with a great breadth of experience as you liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, third party logistics as well as directly with the customer.
Working in a small and friendly team, the Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for:
* Raising purchase orders, checking costs and placing orders
* Collaborating with suppliers and service providers
* Maintaining associated master data and planning data in the MRP system and ERP system
* Responding and noting important shipping information via email from suppliers
* Processing receipts and documents to ensure invoices get paid
* Ensuring that products are delivered on time and ensuring timely communication with internal teams, customers and third parties
* Raising product delivery issues to the Supply Chain Director
The successful Supply Chain Planner will have the following:
* Experience of working in supply chain, (particularly with suppliers in the Far East) is desirable
* A team player mentality; willing to get involved and ask questions
* Excellent attention to detail – to ensure the right orders are delivered on time
* Good organisational skills – as you juggle multiple customers and other third parties
* The desire to work in a changing business
* Experience of working with databases e.g. Access or similar
* Clear and confident communication skills
* Ability to stay focused and work well under pressure
