Our client is looking for an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager.

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that customers receive good quality stock, on time with great service from their drivers, whilst ensuring a safe, clean warehouse environment. To do this the role encompasses maintaining and organising transport and routes, warehouse and stock management, people management, Human Resources, and the overall Health and Safety of the department and building. Applicants should ensure that the day-to-day performance of the transport and warehouse is efficient and that key processes and policies are being followed, whilst managing the department as a whole and liaising with the Office Manager / Supervisor and reporting to the Directors where required.

Key Responsibilities:
* Ultimate accountability for warehousing, logistics, HR and health and safety management.
* Manage the warehouse team and Warehouse Supervisor, delegating appropriate responsibilities where necessary.
* Be responsible for route planning, organising driver’s runs and ensuring they have the correct paperwork for their route.
* Be responsible for ensuring the drivers / mates are providing high levels of customer service at all times, and to lead my example.
* Be responsible for the fleet, including they are kept clean, in good repair, serviced to the legal and company standard and are safe to use.
* Ensure relevant handling aids are available and in good repair.
* Ensure all equipment, e.g. first aid kit and paperwork are fully stocked and available.
* Responsible for the servicing schedule and maintenance of all vehicles including forklifts and company vehicles.
* Responsible for the warehouse, deliveries and stock, including stock rotation, cleanliness, tidiness and general appearance, Health and Safety and related paperwork and activities.
* To manage breakages and returns.
* To use the in house systems to record and communicate information.
* To be responsible and oversee the Health and Safety aspects of the warehouse, building and transport areas of the business, including accident reporting.
* To supervise the department staff to ensure that they consistently perform the tasks within their job role, company expectations and targets.
* Work under the Health and Safety guidelines within the law and company.
* Follow company procedures, processes and tasks put in place are working to their best abilities.
* Wear the correct uniform in line with company policy and Health and Safety procedures.
* To deal with department related HR, Performance Management and Disciplinary matters and queries, including company inductions and training.
* To adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures and all other policies and procedures as detailed within the Company Handbook and elsewhere.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ warehouse management and logistics skills. Successful applicants will have excellent communication and leadership skills, possess people management and organisational skills with the ability to delegate and work under pressure and within strict time

Hours of work are 5 DAYS ACROSS WEEK AND WEEKEND. Holiday of 28 Days (including bank holidays).
