Salary: £14.4 – £16.8 per hour
Due to a bulging order book my client is seeking additional Production Assembly Fitters. You’ll be a skilled and qualified mechanical technician who after initial product assembly training, has all the skills to hit the ground running and further skills training will be part of your development plan.
You’ll be assembling a range of complex specialist electro-mechanical equipment under the supervision of the production supervisor in a busy team. You will be a multi-skilled operative utilising a wide range of engineering manufacturing techniques and tools, in this Lean Manufacturing environment. What you will be doing as the Production Assembly Fitter:
- Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical assemblies and subassemblies are brought together in an efficient, well-equipped production environment using a wide range of hand assembly / fitting and air-operated tools
- Working to the manufacturers Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) you will be conversant with 5S and production processes using written instructions and drawings
- Ensure a clean, tidy and safe workplace using all PPE as required
- Keep up to date with build changes, maintain an accurate log of work completed and undertake occasional component re-work as required
Production Assembly Fitter skills and qualities
- Experienced in the use and application of a wide variety of assembly/ fitting tools, processes and equipment gained in an electro-mechanical engineering manufacturing company to produce high quality products
- Knowledge of automotive, agricultural, and high value complex engineering equipment is highly desirable
- Team player with the ability to work accurately, calmly, meet deadlines, pay attention to detail and enthusiastically take pride in a quality finish for the products
- Training will of course be provided for each product assembly process – you should have the core technical engineering skills to allow you to do this along with initiative, adaptability, and flexibility in a team
- Valid UK driving licence. Free parking is available.
