Mechanical Engineer

Our client is an independent industrial research, product development and consultancy company. With expertise in Fluid Engineering their clients include Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Energy and Manufacturing companies worldwide.

They now have a requirement for an experienced Project Engineer to work on a range of interesting projects in the Mechanical Engineering Team. Technically strong and commercially minded you will work on research and consultancy projects for the design, development and testing of fluid systems, in a dynamic trouble shooting environment. You will be looking to extend your technical knowledge in fields such as fluid power and HPHT systems, applying it to a wide range of industrial processes.

An experienced Mechanical Engineer you will have experience in the following areas:

Knowledge and experience in design and hands-on operation of fluid power and hydraulic systems.
Experience in their use under safety critical or high pressure conditions or in hazardous environments
A good understanding of fluid mechanics gained from either degree/higher education qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) or from equivalent experience.
Knowledge and experience of instrumentation and data acquisition (LabVIEW) and their use on test rigs.
Understanding of the product development life cycle and associated qualification testing.
Experience in project management with the ability to deliver cost effective solutions on time.
A team player with excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
A proven background in industry will be considered very favourably.
Strongly self-motivated and able to organise themselves to prioritise competing targets.
