Inventory Controller
Location: Alva, Clackmannanshire – FK12 5DQ
Salary: £26,000per year
Contract: Permanent, Full time
Hours: 11.00am – 7pm
Omega Diagnostics Ltd are a manufacturer and service provider of Food Intolerance, Health & Wellbeing and in-vitro diagnostics products. Based in Littleport, Cambridgeshire (soon to be relocated to Ely, Cambridgeshire), we export to over 80 countries worldwide as well as servicing the UK.
We currently have an opening for an experienced Inventory Controller.
Inventory Controller – Job Purpose:
To support the implementation of the procurement and inventory control activities for the site to contribute to the achievement of the Group Strategic Sourcing goals and objectives; maintain compliance with all relevant quality and regulatory bodies, standards and directives.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
• Carry out activities to support timely and accurate receipt and despatch of raw materials and finished product
• Carry out activities to support a stock integrity in line with current Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Carry out activities to support accurate inventory management to enable production planning
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for material receipt and stock despatch
• Carry out activities to support Perpetual Physical Inventory (PPI) processes
• Assist with organisation and execution of annual stock take
• Maintain principles of First in First out (FIFO)
• Perform the Marshalling of raw materials in preparation for works orders (job cards)
• Maintain Kanban services for operations teams
• Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement for supply chain activities
• Carry out material segregation by material status
• Maintain moving and lifting equipment and racking systems to required Health & Safety standards
• Develop and maintain productive and professional relationships with colleagues, customers and other third parties
General Areas of Responsibility:
• Carry out all duties and responsibilities to the company standard within the timescales required
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Maintain compliance with QMS policies and procedures
• Perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required
Inventory Controller – Knowledge, Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience of working in stores environment (2 years preferred)
• English & Maths at National 5 level or equivalent
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Working within a highly regulated environment.
• Computer literate
• Knowledge of computer-based ERP system.
• Trained in mechanised lifting equipment
Personal Qualities:
• Ability to work under pressure of a high workload, meet deadlines and respond flexibly.
• Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
• Proactive and able to work effectively independently or within a team.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
Other information:
