The
A strategic alliance has been formed between Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police in order to enable both forces to meet the challenge of reducing policing budgets. By working more closely together the forces will benefit from greater operational and organisational resilience, making us the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales.
The main purpose of the role is to recover assets that have been acquired from crime or which are intended for use in crime and to assist in the investigation and prosecution of offenders.
Main Responsibilities:
To utilise and comply with the powers of an Accredited Financial Investigator within the meaning of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 together with those powers designated under the provisions of the Police Reform Act 2002.
To undertake enquiries to produce financial and criminal evidence and intelligence regarding the assets of people suspected, charged or convicted of criminal offences.
To obtain court orders using appropriate legislation in the higher courts in line with current legislation.
To assist and advise investigating officers regarding those suspected of committing money laundering offences.
To interview witnesses/suspects/respondents where appropriate
To support search and seizure activities in pursuance of all powers designated to the role of Accredited Financial Investigator.
The completion and submission of reports to the Crown Prosecution Service ensuring accuracy, legibility and quality of evidence.
To attend court to give evidence
To attend case conferences with prosecuting solicitors and counsel.
To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

Experience/Skills:
Level 5 qualification in Business/Finance.
Able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and procedures. i.e. Data Protection, Management of Police Information and Proceeds of Crime Act.
Knowledge of accounting procedures and processes.
Knowledge of court processes
Experience of conducting investigations.
Desirable: Experience in financial investigation
Ability to analyse and develop financial intelligence.
Good communication and presentational skills.
Competent in the use of IT including the use of Microsoft Windows applications.
Able to work logically and systematically in order to meet deadlines.
Special Conditions
Travel throughout Warwickshire and West Mercia policing areas.
