Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year
Our client is an established national facilities maintenance service provider, with an enviable reputation of working on prestigious national and regional contracts.
They are currently looking for a Bid Estimator to work out of their office in Frimley Green.
Responsibilities
To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
To understand and comply with policies and procedures
To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
To ensure the retention of current business and acquisition of new business through:-
Commercially sound and competitive pricing
Placing effective challenge to existing and suggested solutions
To work to the values of the Company Mission Statement and Customer Charter
To maintain the security and confidential status of all information so designated; to conduct all activities in a professional manner at all times
To assist the Senior Bid Modeller, Bid Team and Regional sales manager in developing the business
To manage and prepare full cost estimates in accordance with company operating procedures
To support the development of wider bid modelling team to raise knowledge of commercial modelling
To manage and carry out asset/condition surveys in accordance with company operating procedures
To work with the Technical Team on the development of mobilisation plans and costs
To manage and develop benchmarking costing models with the estimating team to include all technical and soft facilities services
To mentor and develop estimating skills throughout the business
To support the preparation of Project Authorisation for sign off
To actively seek innovative pricing solutions
The jobholder may be required to undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required of him/her in the post mentioned above, or in a comparable post within the companyNature Of Work
The role is proactive, enabling the Company to best position itself commercially for all opportunities involving new sales, retention and enhancement
To support those responsible for maintaining bid modelling documentation standards in line with the company procedures
Participate in project review meetings, solution meetings and Project Authorisation
Qualifications and Experience
The jobholder needs to have obtained a high level of education in relevant subjects, or be willing to undertake training both internal and external to the company.
A high level of numeracy, modelling, data manipulation and analytical skills. Able to recognise trends in data sets and have the ability to identify missing data.
Excellent IT skills, in particular MS Excel
M&E Engineering and building asset knowledge
Able to work as part of a teamDesirable
Have a good understanding of the business, its products, and its organisation both geographical and structural.
A good communicator both internally and externally at all levels within an organisation
To have the ability to create and critique commercially sound service delivery solutions
An individual whose values and behaviours match those of the team and the business
Knowledge of industry standard maintenance specification SFG20 plus other relevant publications CIBSE, BSI, BSIRA, RICS
Engineering Qualification and Operational Experience
of completing client pricing schedules
Have a background in a similar services type environment
Knowledge of Soft Facilities Management Modelling
