Salary: £26,000 – £28,800 per year

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive and passionate individual to join us in the capacity of Systems & Technology Assistant. The purpose of this role is to provide direct first line support to end users for all hardware, software and systems at SEM whilst suggesting ideas to improve our products and processes in order to drive efficiencies and minimise ongoing costs to the business.

Responsibilities include:
* Providing first line service support to customers (including but not limited to PC hardware, printers, network cables, Windows, MS Office applications and internal systems such as MES and ERP)
* Maintaining technology and software by carrying out user acceptance testing (UAT), user updates and routine maintenance
* Support computer users by ascertaining individual needs, ensuring applications and facilities meet user and project requirements. Provide training, support, advice and feedback as and when required.
* Responding to issues raised via the SEM ticketing system
* Working closely with peers in the UK and Germany to ensure the smooth running of core applications; identifying areas for opportunity and enhancement.
* Maintaining the configuration database (CMDB) to ensure that all assets are assigned and accounted for
* Supporting in the delivery of personal and team projects and suggesting ideas for improvement
* Training end users in the day to day use of information systems
* Participate and support in continuous improvement activities
* Collecting and analysing data; providing teams with meaningful and insightful data analysis in order to support continuous improvement
Our perfect Systems & Technology Assistant would have:
* Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
* Experience of working with Windows 10 and MS Office (essential). TCPIP and Ethernet (desirable)
* Working knowledge of QlikView or similar Business Intelligence software (desirable)
* The ability to deliver value added results and make informed decisions
* Team spirit; collaborates and shares expertise with others.
* Excellent problem solving skills, and attention to detail
* A positive mind-set; successfully manages projects from concept to completion
* The ability to challenge the norm and bring ideas to fruition
* A proactive, pragmatic and flexible approach with the ability manage a heavy and diverse workload
* A can-do attitude with a patient and understanding approach
* A focus on the customer experience; able to provide a responsive service.
* A polite phone manner and strong written skills

Qualifications
Educated to degree level. A STEM related qualification would prove advantageous

The hours you would work
Monday to Thursday, 7.30am-4.15pm. Friday, 7.30am-12.30pm or 4.15pm
