Salary: £540 – £660 per day
Insight Executive Group are currently working with an innovative and high performing organisation to source an experienced Commercial Manager who can deliver exceptional value. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major construction and civil engineering project – initially to be based working from home – in the foreseeable future, to be based in the Midlands.
The Role:
You will be responsible for delivering commercial activities within the Delivery teams. You will be comfortable providing leadership to commercial staff engaged in the management of the major infrastructure contracts. You will enjoy working alongside the supply chain and contractors within the development and delivery teams, assuring and supporting their commercial activities to provide an independent view to Head of Commercial.
Role Responsibilities:
Pre-Contract
* To be responsible for developing commercial works information, reviewing works information from other functions and drafting contract documents to ensure consistency and alignment with procurement plans.
* To be responsible for supporting the Procurement team in the development and delivery of tender evaluation models and contract documentation including terms and conditions and associated commercial mechanisms, works and site information to be consistent with strategies and procurement plans.
Procurement
* To be responsible for evaluating tenders and supporting moderation to achieve Contract Award.
* To be responsible for developing a contract management plan.
* To be responsible for supporting contract readiness.
Post Contract:
* To be accountable for providing commercial assurance to Head of Commercial of all Delivery commercial activities including:
* Delivering commercial and contract management of the contracts to maintain effective commercial control
* Accountability for the administration of the obligations of the Project Manager
In terms of decision-making, your role will hold delegations and authority for commercial and contract management activities in accordance with company governance.
Essential Skills / Experience Required:
* Experience in managing and administering high value and delivery critical contracts to support the delivery of major, complex infrastructure projects
* The ability to develop commercial strategies and plans on capital projects.
* Experience of developing and managing effective, value driven commercial relationships with supply chain.
* A thorough understanding of NEC contracts, procedures and processes
