Trainee Setter Out

Responsible for:

The production of accurate site and manufacturing drawings for comment and approval

The production and distribution of cutting sheets and other relevant information relating to the work

Following departmental administration procedures

Main Roles:

General Producing setting-out drawings from designer / architect drawings for ultimate use as manufacturing drawings for both in-house and externally

Organise the printing, collating, recording and monitoring of all drawings and related documents you receive for each project, eg from third parties

Clarify instructions received from in-house or from Client

Carry out site survey(s) as necessary

Ensure drawings and materials are approved and signed-off by Client team / Contract Manager

Ensure drawings and cutting sheets are produced and distributed in a timely manner

Ensure any revisions / amendments are notified to the relevant individual(s) in a timely manner

Communicate clear and precise instructions to others (in-house and third parties)

Attend regular meetings with in-house team and third parties as necessary, (this may involve travelling outside the area)

Complete Job Sheets correctly and honestly and have them signed off by the Manager

Other Duties:

Co-operate with management on all aspects of health and safety and assist in assessing workplace risks

Undertake any training as is necessary to ensure you remain competent to carry out your allocated tasks which may necessitate travel outside of the area

Undertake any task not specified above that is deemed to be within the remit of the role Health, Safety & Welfare

Follow Company procedures, best practices and workshop safety rules at all times

Ensure that all lifting, carrying and handling of loads is done so in a safe manner and where possible get assistance

Ensure that access to all safety equipment, first aid facilities, fire appliances etc. is maintained and that all fire exit routes etc. are kept clear

Wear all other appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) depending on the task or as directed by the Safety Director & Workshop Managers.

Report any defects or damaged PPE so that replacements can be issued

Report any incident, accident, equipment or property damage to your Manager

Do not misuse any item of equipment that has been provided to protect you or others. eg fire extinguishers

Take reasonable care of yourself and those who may be affected by your acts or omissions

Maintain good standards of housekeeping at all times
