Systems Engineer

Salary: £54,000 – £66,000 per year

Experienced Systems Engineer required to join leading international space organisation as part of their continued growth

As Systems Engineer you will join a small and enthusiastic UK team developing equipment and sub-systems for multiple space missions

As Systems Engineer you will be part of the robotics team, supporting their European-based customers while specializing in the development of advanced space sensors for exploration missions as well as space-based communication technology. Your responsibilities will include

• Determining customer needs, and capturing, deriving and managing requirements
• Providing technical interface to customers and subcontractors
• Providing oversight and supervision of different engineering disciplines during design, integration and test
• Analyzing performance, justifying design choices, predicting performance of a variety of systems
• Producing system budgets (link budget, mass budget, etc.)
• Troubleshooting hardware and software for space missions
• Planning test campaigns
• Delivering verified flight equipment to customer requirements

To be considered for the Systems Engineer role you will:

• Be educated to degree level or equivalent in technical discipline
• Have considerable commercial experience designing, manufacturing or testing hardware for the space environment
• Have familiarity with formal configuration control methods
• Have experience with ECSS standards
• Have knowledge of qualification and acceptance environmental testing
• Have experience with test specification, plan and procedure development
• Ideally have experience with optical sensors
• Have experience of Python, DOORS/MATLAB/C or C++
• Successful candidates must be able to obtain and hold security clearance.
