Logistics Manager

Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain are currently recruiting an experienced Logistics & Distribution Manager to work for a successful manufacturing organisation based in North Yorkshire.
My client is a structural steel and precision manufacturer supplying bespoke products into the construction sector.

This is an established role within the business and therefore requires someone with previous experience in a similar role to hit the ground running. The incumbent will be expected to organise the storage and distribution of their product. Managing capacity and logistics whilst overseeing the in house fleet and organising subcontract hauliers where necessary.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

Coordinate and plan both in house transport and subcontract hauliers
Assist with the strategy and development of production and logistics plans
Coordinate movement and storage of product across distribution depots
Develop and maintain business relationships with transport and shipping coordinators
Attend production meetings to communicate any logistic related issues
Ensure sales and clients are provided with realistic and competitive lead times for delivery

Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain would be keen to speak with candidates who have the following skills and experiences:

A minimum of 5 years’ logistics experience within a manufacturing environment
Ability to communicate at all levels
Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
Ability to demonstrate experience of managing and coaching others in the workplace
Excellent problem solver and ability to work in a demanding environment
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
