Salary: £42,000 per year
Design Engineer, Gainsborough, Up to C £35,000, 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday, 24 days holiday + BH
Our client is a design to manufacture company who are going from strength to strength.
Having been established for many years, this company continues to grow and as a result they have an opportunity for a Design Engineer to join their team.
The role of Design Engineer is to work in the drawing office and design manufacturing processes and products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Working on individual jobs
* Creating 3d models leading to 2d manufacturing and assembly drawings and accurate Bills of Materials
* Design and calculation of simple components
* Amending/updating drawings as a result design changes and improvements
* Production of sales drawings for customer enquiries
* Occasional involvement in R+D projects
* Liaison with the shop floor during production of the job
* Knowledge of material purchasing, parts allocations and parts costing
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* 3D and 2D knowledge within design to manufacture
* Good engineering knowledge of materials and their properties (particularly steel, timber and GRP composites).
