Land Surveyor (Rail / Underground)

Due to ongoing maintenance and enhancement work, they are seeking 2 Land Surveyors to be carrying out Track Surveys.

About the role:
As Land Surveyor, you will be carrying out land and engineering surveying duties on track renewals projects. These will include As Built and Topographical Surveys.

Key accountabilities will include: –
* Gauging and clearance analysis
* Pre-renewal site preparation
* Setting out of open track renewals using 3D machine control
* Ensuring surveys are conducted in accordance with current standards
* Checking data and survey computations
* Preparing work instructions and technical reports
* Maintaining drawings (CAD) and other survey documentation

In this role, you will be responsible for the quality and ‘fitness for purpose’ of data produced from measured surveys and for all mark up and setting out information used during construction phase.

Person Specification:
* Ideally Degree or HND Qualified or Equivalent in a land or engineering surveying discipline
* Proven track record in a similar role
* Experience or awareness of 3D machine control for track renewals
* Computer literate
* Used to having own work checked and to checking of others
* Able to prepare calculations, drawings and specifications
* Able and willing to work unsocial hours (night shifts)
* Able and willing to work weekends
* Current holder of UK driver’s license
* Experience or awareness of CAD, ideally Microstation and LISCAD
* Familiarity with Leica and/or Trimble survey equipment.
