Electrical Installations Project Manager
The Midlands and the North of England
£48,000 – £54,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Permanent position
Role Summary
* Responsibility for successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and handing over of electrical alarm installation projects for the healthcare and medical sectors
* Review, analyse and respond where necessary to all requirements and provisions in sub-contracts supplied to us prior to successful acceptance of that contract and placement of orders
* Analyse each contract’s risks to the business and debrief senior management where necessary to ensure business goals are not compromised.
* Negotiation and manage all contract changes (via addendums for instance)
* Negotiate and issue our sub-contractor’s contract to ensure full alignment with our own contract with the client
* Regularly visit sites and meet with our sub-contractors and clients (management teams and QS) to ensure smooth running of site tasks.
* Review, prepare and cost project variations, delay notices, dependencies etc to be communicated to clients and sub-contractors.
* Activity planning and sequencing via MS Project or/and similar planning tools to ensure quick reactions to changes in project program.
* Liaising with sub-contractors and client sites to ensure risk management and mitigation.
* BoM review and verification with the Company system designer upon order placement.
* Ensure site progress reports are received in a timely manner from each of our sub-contractors to allow applications for payment to be produced in line with our contract requirements
* Working closely with internal departments to ensure maximum efficiency and visibility of all projects
* Develop a close working relationship with the Projects Admin team who will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of all project related tasks at Head Office
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Operations team through concise and accurate project meeting debriefs.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with nurse call Commissioning team through concise and accurate project meeting debriefs.
* Supply regular, accurate and concise project information to the Senior Projects Manager via all comms channels to ensure customer order dates, variation quotations, materials planning, delivery scheduling, and sub-contractor communication is current and correct.

* Drive change through continuous Improvement
* Developing great relationships with clients and sub-contractors – going above and beyond to ensure repeat business
* Be aware of project costs and margins at all times and look for ways to drive margin improvement through project cost reductions.
* Ensure sub-contractors are always acting on the company’s behalf whilst client facing to ensure a united and seamless experience is given to the client.
* Use your relationship with clients and our Area Sales Managers to capitalize on any situations where further upselling is possible.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Daily planning and calendar scheduling via feedback and instruction from the Medical Projects Admin Team.
* Regular site visits to ensure smooth running of projects.
* Debriefing as necessary of each site visit to the Medical Projects Admin Team and Operations Team.
* Updating project programs and dissemination of updated information to all stakeholders via the Medical Projects manager.
* Issue variation and other project cost changes to the Healthcare Projects Admin Team for issuing to the client within the timeframes specified by each contract.
* Review contract information prior to order processing by the Medical Projects Admin Team.
* Organise and conduct pre-let meeting with clients and sub-contractors often alongside our Account Managers.
* Feedback site completion levels to the Medical Projects Admin Team to ensure applications for payment can be processed on time.
Qualifications & experience required:
Experience with data network infrastructure and installations or similar (fire alarms, emergency call systems, CCTV etc.)
PRINCE2 qualification would be an advantage
CSCS Card would be beneficial
City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regs is desirable
NEBOSH qualification is also desirable
Other formal project management training/qualification would be desirable however candidates with a strong track record of experience in very similar roles would be considered.
Work will cover a mix of new build and refurbishment with elements of live working and therefore breadth & depth of experience is required on a wide variety of project types
Experience working on projcts for / within the NHS would be desirable.
Experience working with sub contracts, reviewing contract terms and organizing changes and addendums to minimize risk exposure to the company
Experience with site based health and safety matters
Experience with risk assessments, method statements and scope of works documents.
IT literate including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar is an advantage
Additional Information:
Permanent Role
40 Hour Week
26 days holiday plus public holidays (a number of annual leave days must be kept for the annual company shutdown, usually 4 or 5).
Remote based role with an initial induction at Company HQ required, along with attendance for monthly meetings/briefings.
Company vehicle provided (chosen by company).
Mobile and laptop provided by company.
Travel will also be required to installation sites all over UK mainland.
Out of hours working will be required as the role reasonably demands.
