Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year

Marketing Manager – Wonderful modern sustainable, environmentally motivated company and role with a bunch of intelligent, fun energetic people!

A hybrid or remote role with HQ near Cambridge – a company born from co-founders with a passion  ( Start asap – 2 stage process ) 

A hands-on marketing role with a great balance of strategy and day to day do-er stuff with 1 very keen person to manage!

Growth could be superb and all for a wonderful cause and the official title is Head of marketing – Reporting to a co-founder and Head of Product.

Negotiable salary with 33 days holiday and a fantastic, motivated cause – sector – fast paced – 16 people start up going from strength to strength!

A role for someone on the up – happy to much in but motivated to strategically grow, recruit, live and breath the growth, solution, and progression!

Fantastic opportunity for an experienced marketing professional to join a growing business focused on sustainability and reaching net zero through geospatial data and tools.

The client:

Applying data engineering and data science to problems in the energy sector. Focussing on building valuable datasets and web-based tools for analysis and decision making. Our customers are energy utilities, large corporate energy users, and local governments.

Selling both energy related data products and software analytics.

A young, stable and growing company with excellent opportunities for rapid career progression.

Culture: Strong delegated decision making, as such team members are what makes them successful.

The commercial team is currently small, with two FTEs in addition to the co-founders; the new Head of Marketing will likely have the opportunity to recruit more team members in their first year.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and overseeing strategic & tactical marketing plans, both digital & traditional, to evolve and push company exposure
  • Managing all day-to-day marketing activities, which will include:
    • Event Management – organising a company presence at virtual & in-person events, including arranging a booth and speaking opportunity
    • Regular webinars – organising and promoting webinars to ensure we get a large number of qualified attendees
    • Managing our blog and social media output – posting items, aiming to maximise visibility and impact to our target audiences
    • Content – driving thought leadership by drafting some content and editing content written by others within the team
    • Budget – responsible for planning and adhering to Marketing Budget allowance.
    • Website – recommendations as to how the structure and content should change to attract interest from relevant visitors and push them through the funnel, including making simple changes yourself
    • Partners – working with partner organisations to promote joint activities
    • Channel Marketing – working with a commercial sales team to create preferred partner relationships for resell opportunities and developing partner agreements.
    • Managing press releases and other PR activity
    • Working with third parties to syndicate or publish our content

  • Critically – tying all the above into coherent marketing campaigns and workflows over several months
  • AND tracking the success of all activities, ensuring we have a good handle on the relevant metrics to demonstrate good return on marketing investment

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • You will have at least three years’ experience in marketing in a technology company
  • You will have experience in a very small team
  • You will have good understanding of modern marketing approaches, tools and metric analysis
  • You will have excellent written skills
  • You will have experience helping craft the marketing plan and delivering it
  • You will be comfortable working from home, working with your teammates primarily through video calls and collaboration technology
  • You will have decent experience with a large subset of the following: Google suite, Microsoft, Hubspot, Confluence, Jira, Google Analytics, and Adobe suite.
