We are currently working alongside an established multimillion pound award winning engineering company, who due to sustained growth are now looking to appoint an experienced Project Engineer.
ESSENTIAL:
Project Management
Project Management qualification DESIRABLE
but not essential – Mechanical HNC or equivalent
Strong commercial awareness
Ability to understand P&ID’s, Drawings and general engineering documentation.
Knowledge of mechanical process equipment Desirable but not essential –
Planning and organization skills
Ability to prioritise workload effectively
Strong inter-personal skills
Microsoft Project, Office, Word, Excel and Outlook experience
Proficient with AutoCAD 2D & 3D.
NEC contract management experience desirable
OVERALL PURPOSE:
To manage projects representing the company to ensure customer expectations and requirements are met; project milestones are achieved both with regard to timescales and budgets resulting in the delivery of an excellent service/ product to the end user.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as main point of contact for client for entire project, feeding information to various departments as required.
- Develop project programme using Microsoft Project
- Manage all commercial aspects of project, including project budget, invoicing, early warning notices and compensation events.
- Identify additional costs chargeable to client arising from variations in contract scope of work.
- Ensure all project delivery dates and milestones are achieved as per project programme.
- Identify issues and risks to both project delivery & budget in advance to mitigate impact on project performance, raising this to senior management where necessary.
- Produce monthly financial reports and invoicing forecasts for all projects.
- Attend interdepartmental meetings as required to provide project updates and raise any concerns.
- Identify labour requirements for project installation on site.
- Develop & produce P&ID’s, GA drawings, Equipment Schedules & Design Risk Assessments based on contract scope of work & client specifications.
- Interact with design department for design deliverables & fabrication drawings.
- Attend meetings with clients to discuss designs & other project requirements.
- Attend client HAZOP / ALM’s
- Collate and issue bill of materials & equipment for procurement.
- Communicate with department managers and shop floor as required throughout project delivery.
- Issue Assembly Information Packs for manufacture of equipment.
- Attend site to attend meetings and obtain information.
- Write and issue Risk Assessments & Method Statements for installation of projects.
- Collate and issue all project & ITP documentation.
- Act as the main point of contact for site installation.
- Order all materials, hire plant and equipment for site installation.
- Manage various subcontractors as required.
- Issue As Built Documentation & Drawings.
- Compile & issue O&M Manual for project.
- Assist other departments where required.
