The role of the Specification Sales Manager – Paving and Hard Landscaping will involve:

• Field sales position selling a predominantly a manufactured range of paving / hard landscaping, but also some drainage, street furniture and natural stone products
• Targeting commercial projects such as hospitals, schools, public realm/ infrastructure projects
• Specification field sales position, 80% of the time gaining specifications with architects & landscape architects and 20% with other specifiers such as consulting engineers, local authorities and housebuilder developers
• Although covering a large area, you will work with closely with internal specification resources who will assist with the small specification projects on patch, leaving 15-20 main accounts that you will take the lead on
• Working in conjunction with a field sales contractor representative, spending time with the key contractor bid teams, supporting the specifications team at the design stage
• £150,000 typical specification value
• Small element of this role will be spent project managing
• Targeted on winning £4m of stage 4 development specifications
• 70% time getting specified with established customer base, 30% new specifiers, (although our client’s brand will be known)
• Area is currently performing in line with budget expecation

The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager – Paving and Hard Landscaping with:

• Field sales proven track record of winning specifications with architects or landscape architects
• Must have field sales experience of a technical construction / building material
• Ideally with an eye for design/ demonstrate how to approach the design of a project
• Preferably worked for a building material manufacturer
• Must have an aptitude to learn, you will be given time to learn the products and develop as a field sales professional
• Knowledge of hard landscaping is not required as full product training will be provided
• Open to any technical field sales product backgrounds
• Stable career history, looking for career longevity
• Determined, driven and professional
