Job Specification Embedded Engineer
Tactiq develop challenging embedded and dedicated systems in the areas of medical imaging, automotive, defence and industrial systems. The successful candidate will work with an experienced engineer developing and testing an embedded system.
Roles and Responsibilities
Work as part of a team to design, implement, test and debug of embedded electronic systems for a range of applications including medical imaging, automotive and acoustic signal processing. You will work with leading edge technology alongside highly skilled engineers and program managers, all with proven track records of executing demanding projects.
Your role will include:
Implement embedded software in C and other languages
Review requirements and design documents.
Test and Debug embedded software and electronics
Contributing to the development of electronics systems.
Use version control systems.
Contributing to project planning and status review.
Execute to an agreed project plan.
Interact with the client as required.
Create requirements, design and test documents.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Design of embedded microcontroller electronics
Mixed signal design
Embedded C and/or embedded C++ knowledge.
Knowledge of embedded and real-time software debugging techniques.
Knowledge of DSP or signal processing.
Knowledge of structured and object orientated design.
Knowledge of full software development lifecycle.
Experienced in hands-on development and troubleshooting of embedded targets using in-circuit debuggers and basic electronic test equipment, including scopes and logic analysers.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Desirable:
Knowledge of control theory.
Knowledge of physics.
Experience in DSP or signal processing.
Software development using other languages:
o Assembler.
o C# & JAVA,
o Python or Ruby
o Perl, C-Shell, and bash scripts.
Modelling and simulation using Mat-lab and Simulink tools.
Development of DSP based signal processing applications.
Experience of User Interface development or the.NET environment
Familiarity with embedded coding standards and methodologies.
UK driving licence.
