Salary: £26,000 per year

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Administrator required for an ongoing temporary assignment with Swindon Borough Council. This position pays £26,000 per year and is a part time role working 18.5 hours per week. You will benefit from free town centre parking, a pension scheme and 33 days holiday per annum pro rata if the role exceeds 12 weeks.

You will be responsible for the Co-ordination and Administration of the statutory assessment procedures for pupils with Special Educational Needs. This includes;

– Administration of all aspects of the Statutory Assessment process, annual review process and transfer process, moving on plans and any tasks associated with these

– To undertake all administrative duties for a caseload of children and young people

– To be aware of the statutory timescales and procedures in line with the SEN code of practice

– Monitor and track the progress or statutory assessments, annuals reviews and transfers to ensure all targets are met in line with statutory timescales the SEN Code of Practice

– To advise Head Teachers, SENCOs, Social Workers and Medical Officers and other professionals of statutory review and transfer procedures

– To co-ordinate and administrate transport requests and provisions

– To act as point of contact with all parents, schools and professionals, providing appropriate advise and guidance in line with the SEN Code of Practice

– Handle correspondence and telephone communications in line with SEN C ode of Practice

– Maintain the records of all Children with a statement of SEN or Education health and care plan

In order to undertake this position, you must be able to evidence the following;

– Previous experience of working in a Administration role within an SEN/Education/Childcare/Sensitive based environment

– Evidence of a sensitive approach to team working

– Knowledge of and interest within Education Services

– Strong IT skills

– Experience of working to tight timelines and statutory timescales

– Ability to deal with sensitive information in relation to Children
