Process Engineer

Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the business as a Process Engineer, supporting the business unit in a varied role involving new product introductions, product transfers and scale ups, process improvements, waste and variation reduction, as well as supporting on capital projects.

Key skills

• A degree (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc) in a mechanical, materials, chemical or engineering discipline is essential
• Some post graduate experience as a process engineer, materials engineer, manufacturing engineer or continuous improvement engineer ideally in a web processing/web handling manufacturing environment (paper, tissue, fabric, foil, film, coating, plating, lamination)
• Must have a detailed understanding of and track record in reducing process variation using tools such as SPC, Cpk and Six Sigma, FMEA
• A steady career progression, with consistency of service evident and sound reasons for company changes
• Strong overall project management skills
• Ability to evidence quantifiable achievement around resolving product and process capability issues in a relevant manufacturing environment
• Any knowledge of thermoplastics, polymers, plastics, composites, resins or coatings highly advantageous

Most importantly we seek a technically minded and data driven candidate, who enjoys working with numbers and doing statistical analysis, who can act as a conduit between different departments and engage others in project work, who has excellent time management and prioritisation skills. A well-presented, professional and articulate process engineer who is results driven and ambitious.

This role will involve infrequent travel to other sites in UK and Europe with short overnight stays on occasion
