Becoming a competent Microsoft developer. The applicant will become exposed to a wide cross-section of technical challenges expanding their technical capabilities in a fully supported role.
Involved in the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing applications.
Assisting the Senior Development Engineer with writing of new web applications.

Who will I work for, and what will I do?

With over 25 years of experience, the employer provide professional IT Support Services to small and medium size companies in a large range of industries, both in the UK and around the world. Services include remote desktop support, hosting solutions, web application development and backups and recovery services.

You will be an enthusiastic self-motivated individual to wanting to join a friendly and dynamic team. You will be working closely with the developer team to assist in the creation and maintenance of client’s web applications.
As an Apprentice Web Application Developer you will become exposed to a wide cross-section of technical challenges expanding you technical capabilities in a fully supported role. You will be Involved in the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing applications, assisting the Senior Development Engineer with writing of new web applications with the view to becoming a competent Microsoft Developer.

What training will I receive?

Firebrand offers a unique Advanced Level 3 IT Apprenticeship that provides award-winning industry training and certifications, valuable work experience and offers on-going support all with the ultimate goal of securing you a long-term career within the world of technology.

During your 12 month IT apprenticeship programme, Firebrand will provide you with five weeks of intensive training at our state-of-the-art training centre. Our method of accelerated training allows you to achieve industry-recognised certifications from Microsoft faster, giving you more time to put your new skills in to practice within a working environment. Firebrand will also provide you with a Mentor who will be supporting, assessing and assisting you with your development whilst you are in the workplace.

What experience do I need?

You will have either developed a blog, mobile app, web application, website or be able to demonstrate your ability and passion within programming, development and design. You will possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate your willingness to learn. Finally, you will have a GCSE/A Level of at least A*- C (or equivalent) in English, Maths and ICT.

What happens after my apprenticeship?

By working hard throughout the course of your apprenticeship and demonstrating your ability to learn and grow, there will be the potential to evolve into a full time position as a Microsoft Developer.
