Finance Manager

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to manage the transactional accounting function of this distributor of electrical appliances throughout the UK. The company has grown exponentially, having doubled their revenue over the last 5 years with plans for continued expansion.

Managing a team of 5, this is a newly created position with the purpose of enabling the Financial Director to work more strategically within the business.

Some of your main responsibilities are listed below:

Implementing new processes to get the most out of the company’s most recent investment within the finance team; a state-of-the-art accounting software.
Lead the month end close process, presenting to the FD and other internal stakeholders when necessary.
Cash management – working with the credit control team to ensure debts are collected in a timely manner and cash flow reporting.
Prepare, review and process month end journals (accruals, prepayments, allocations etc).
Preparation of monthly management accounts pack
VAT returns
Assist with budgeting and forecasting
Assist with the completion of year end statutory accountsThe ideal candidate will have a proven track record within a similar role with:-

Strong IT and systems background with advanced Excel
Demonstrable skills in streamlining systems
A hands on approachQualified or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA would be advantageous but due consideration will be given to those with the relevant accounting and management experience.
