Job Description:
Our client is a well-established Group of Facilities Management companies that – due to both growth across the Group and a growing client base – requires a Health & Safety Officer/ Office Administrator to join their team on a full-time basis.
The role would suit a candidate who is looking for a varied role that offers them an opportunity to support Senior Management with all-round administrative support, whilst also being able to take the lead on all Health & Safety matters through utilising their qualifications and experience.
The role requires occasional travel between two sites in the West Midlands and travel to client sites, though can be predominantly based at an office of their choosing.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Establishing and monitoring Health and Safety processes and procedures.
- Updating, monitoring, and reporting on Health and Safety matters through H&S software.
- Leading the implementation and growth of H&S software across the Group.
- Providing H&S reports to Senior Management.
- Leading company accreditation renewals e.g. CHAS, ISO 9001.
- Carrying out external/internal audits.
- Liaising with external H&S consultants to maximise internal H&S efficiencies.
- Occasional site-based H&S support to ensure compliance.
- Supporting other departments in a Business Partner capacity to support the completion of internal projects; such as H&S audits, Accreditation audits, Financial reviews, Subcontractor audits and more.
- Providing ad-hoc administrative support to Senior Management.
- Writing (Pre)Construction Phase Plans, Waste Management Plans etc.
- Preparing and completing Health and Safety Manuals for project works.
- Any other tasks as reasonably requested by Management.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Essential: Previous experience in a Health and Safety-based role.
- Essential: Health & Safety qualification e.g NEBOSH and/or IOSH
- Essential: Excellent communicator.
- Essential: Willing and able to manage a varied workload and prioritise accordingly.
- Essential: IT Literate in Microsoft and ability to learn new processes and systems.
- Essential: Willing to undertake any training deemed necessary.
- Desirable: Technical knowledge of the industry within Facilities Management would be advantageous.
- Essential: Willing and able to assist with wider Group tasks and to prioritise accordingly in an autonomous role.
