Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to join a multi national Distribution company based in the Thrapston Area.

The Role

– Your key responsibilities will be to provide Electrical and Mechanical support to ensure performance of all production and distribution machinery (i.e. sortation systems, Conveyors, 25m high bay cranes, mezzanine floors etc) are running at their optimum capacity.
– Electrical, Mechanical PPM`s and breakdowns
– Repair contacts, sensors, switches, relays, motors, gear boxes, chains, belts, hydraulics, pneumatics.
– PLC fault finding on a variety of makes.
– You will maintain accurate and timely records with planned, preventative and reactive maintenance work to ensure all work loads have been completed to the best of your ability and to a strict deadline.
– Also encouraging, supporting and managing active participation in continuous improvement activities throughout the whole production and facilities site.

The Candidate

– The successful candidate will have completed an engineering apprenticeship in mechanical or Eqviliant such as HND/HNC.C&G etc.
– A high standard of electrical/ mechanical knowledge will be required for this position, this can be gained from any Automation / Food / Pharmaceutical or any other production environment.
– It would be advantageous if the successful candidate had proven previous experience from an automated high speed warehouse, distribution or logistics company.
You must be able to communicate effectively across the board and have excellent attention to detail
– Due to the nature of this role the candidate must be physically fit and be able to continually travel up and down ladders.
