Deployment Support Engineer

The Company

The company is a global pharmaceutical company that has a pride of place within the UK market.

The Role

This person will be seen as competent in broad automation capabilities and must be able to act independently in their role. The Automation Engineer would be seen as a technical authority. He/she would typically coach others and lead teams within their core area of expertise.

A key part of this role is the ability to quickly engage with a customer and clearly identify the key issues that will deliver value to the business, for example starting with the business opportunity rather than a customer generated solution.

In this role individuals have to assess and manage risk effectively such that the project progresses to meet the business needs.

The Automation engineer needs to set clear targets for the whole of the team that he leads.

Within that framework the individual members of the team must understand their accountabilities and the consequences of their succeeding or failing to deliver.

The technical solution(s) implemented meets the project and business need.
Testing & training is delivered to schedule and site signoff attained
The individual’s performance will be measured on:
The operational performance of the installed technical solution.
The ability to leave the local sites self supportive.
The effectiveness of stakeholder management (inc. communication and challenging customer’s assumptions).The Person

The skill-set in this role is:

Excellent knowledge of software related to warehouse business processes.
Experience in testing large scale IS solutions, including development of scripts.
Ability to determine business benefit and impact of decisions
Requires excellent communication skills and be able to transfer knowledge to others to allow you to portray confidence to sites globally that you’re the expert and can deliver.
Well organised to be able to prioritise and manage multiple problems/questions globally
Knowledge of IT/IS network infrastructure, including external interfacing.
Installations are often stressful; you need to have the ability to be able to defuse situations in unfamiliar surroundings.
Good Supplier Relationship Management competence will be required.
Good influencing skills to allow you to coach sites, suppliers and colleagues into adopting best practice.
Manufacturing and Automation system knowledge.
Experience leading and directing cross functional project teams.
