Our client, a large secondary school based in St Johns Wood, are currently looking to recruit a HR Assistant to join their small busy team.
The purpose of the role is to provide secretarial, administrative and organisational support to professional human resources service including photocopying, collating, record keeping, filing (both physical and computerised files), taking minutes, entering, editing and retrieving data, updating Single Central Record, Annual leave, Absence records and HR System.
Duties include;
– Operational activities: Working with Manager to implement effective policies and procedures and keep accurate and confidential records
– Maintain robust systems to ensure all confidential staff documents are kept secure and accessed appropriately.
– Provide administrative support to all HR functions, including recruitment, absence management, performance management, reward management and personnel files and HR database management.
– Interrogate all record systems and provide reports as requested.
– Provide straightforward advice on procedures as agreed
– Participate in joint projects and activities as and when required.
– Contribute to training and development activities as required.
– Maintain knowledge of current employment legislation and professional best practice.
– Ensure that safeguarding requirements are met in carrying out the responsibilities of the post
– Implement school policies consistently and follow procedures outlined in the current Staff Handbook
– Ensure that confidentiality is maintained in all HR Matters
– Carrying out any other responsibilities related to general administration duties as directed by the HR Manager.
– Carry out any duties as may be required commensurate with the overall responsibility of the post as well as when directed by a line manager or member of SLT.
– Comply with and actively promote school policies.
– Promote positive student conduct.
– Undertake training and development relevant to the post.
The ideal candidate will preferable have some experience working in an education environment, will be part CIPD qualified or working towards it and very flexible. You will have high attention to detail, excellent excel and reporting skills and will be able to work independently. It is highly desirable if you have previous experience with SIMS
